My vision was so poor I couldn't make it to the bathroom at night without glasses. Couldn't even see the alarm clock on my bedside table. My prescription was so bad I couldn't bear to wear glasses, there were like coke bottles! My brother gave me the money for Lasix surgery for my birthday a few years ago, and it is the most amazing thing. Best present I ever got.
